About Us

Our Holy Mother Saint Teresa of Jesus understood that the love of God must impel one to work generously for the Church, and she founded her monasteries so that by prayer and penance, they would help the Church and her Priests to extend the Kingdom of God throughout the whole world. For that purpose, we consecrate ourselves to God, loved above all, seeking the perfection of charity, to follow Christ more closely under the action of the Holy Spirit, through the evangelical counsels of poverty, chastity, and obedience.

We invite you to browse our digital library to learn of our Buffalo Carmel's history, get a glimpse into what a typical day in Carmel is like, meet several of our Carmelite Saints, and learn more about some of the Carmelite devotions that we cherish.

St Elizabeth of the Trinity.jpg

"My mission in heaven will be to draw souls, helping them to go out of themselves to cling to God, with a spontaneous love-filled action, and to keep them in that great interior silence which enables God to make His mark on them, to transform them into Himself."

- Saint Elizabeth of the Trinity
